Some animals are great to have around. People can bond with them, they can give you food and fiber and carry stuff.
Chuckoos lay eggs, but might also get into the garden and stuff their cheeks full of your tomatoes. Maybe you could teach one to forage?
As someone who has never actually had to live with goats, I adore them. Maybe they could pull little carts that don't carry much weight, but can go through slightly steeper/rougher terrain.
Lumbalos are your high risk/high reward livestock. They're big and obstinate and eat a bunch, but you can shave 'em, milk 'em, hook 'em up to a big old wagon, lots of good stuff.
I'd be fine with slaughtering them for meat too, though I dunno how much that harshes everybody's mellow.
